Biography

She was born on Jeju Island on February 12, 1992 and lived there until the first grade.She had a casting as a singer at a school retreat, it was during her junior year of high school.She sang the song Gavy NJ during a talent show and it turned out that a talent agency official had been there.She was a trainee for about three years, including the time when she was a member of the predebut of 4MINUTE.

Debut

In June 2010, she made her debut as a member of SISTAR in Music Bankwith the debut single, Push Push.

Solo career

After having participated in some soundtracks for dramas, on November 1, 2012, she made her first collaboration with Geeks with the song “Officially Missing You”, which reached #1 in several music charts. Almost a month later, on November 29th, she released together with K.Will and Jeong Min from BOYFRIENDthe song titled “Love White” as part of the project of Starship Planet.

In 2013 she made her official debut as a solo artist with rapper Mad Clown on September 10, the single and a short music video were officially released.

On February 1, 2014, it was revealed that she would be releasing a second single together with Junggigo titled “Some”. On February 7, the song and MV starring her band mate Dasomy Baro from B1A4 the song was a huge success, achieving an all-kill within a month of its release and winning multiple awards on music shows, even surpassing artists such as Girls’ Generation, 2NE1 and CNBLUE.

On September 26, 2014 she released her 3rd single titled “The Space Between”, in collaboration with the male members of Urban Zakapa the MV for the song of the same name, was starring Ahn Jae Hyuny Nam Bo Raand featured a small appearance by SoYou.

A year later, on September 22, 2015, she released her 4th single titled “Lean On Me” along with Kwon Jung Yeolfrom. 10cm the song quickly topped the music charts.

Thanks to the success of all her collaborations, she has been named “The Queen of Collaborations”.
