She left After School however, in early 2011 she stated that the reason behind her separation from the group was that she preferred acting to singing. Time passed more slowly when she was rehearsing choreography and songs and she did not enjoy it as much as when she was performing.
In high school, she is said to have performed background ballet in the group Jewelry prior to her debut, she was also a friend of Kim Eun Jung from Jewelry.
