- On July 31, 2018, FNC Entertainment confirmed that Lee Jong Hyun enlists for active duty in the military in August. Due to his personal wishes, the exact date and location will not be disclosed.
- After completing his basic training, he was assigned an award for being a “model soldier”.
- On March 14, 2019, SBS’s “8 O’Clock News” shared that Lee Jong Hyun had received sex tapes of women in a chat room with Jung Joon Young and also talked about women as if they were objects.
- On August 28, 2019, YouTuber Park Min Jung posted a screenshot on his Instagram story of a direct message he received from an account belonging to Lee Jong Hyun. In the image, Lee Jong Hyun tells her, “I really enjoy watching your YouTube videos. Keep uploading funny videos.” He then adds, “Your belly fat is really cute.” Later after the new controversy Lee Jong Hyun announced his departure from CNBLUE.
