Goo Hye Sun entered the entertainment industry after gaining popularity on the Internet as an ulzzang.

She originally started as a trainee singer at SM Entertainment, after which she switched her agency to DSP Media where unfortunately, things didn’t work out and she was unable to make her debut as a member of Fin.K.L subsequently, she joined YG Entertainment to become a singer (allegedly in a three-member girl group with 2NE1 Park Bom and Sandara Park ), but YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk advised Goo to pursue acting instead of music.

She began her acting career in one-act dramas and non-stop comedy. She was also co-MC with Kim Hee Chul from Super Junior in the weekly live music program Inkigayo of SBS from April 23, 2006 through February 18, 2007.

Hye Sun soon rose to fame in the drama Pure 19 and surprised the critics with her performance in the historical drama The King And I still, she is best known for playing Geum Jan-di in the hit KBS drama Boys Over Flowers after a year in limbo with no broadcasting schedule, her pre-produced drama The Musical finally aired in September 2011, after which Goo played a female pilot on the SBS series Take Care of Us, Captain followed by Absolute Boyfriend the adaptation of the Taiwanese drama of manga Absolute Darling the writer of the original manga of Absolute Darling praised her for freely changing facial expressions and found her performance very attractive and adorable.

In recent years, she has showcased her vocal talents through Sarang Ga (“Love Story”), which became the title song of Pure 19, a cover by Shim Soo Bong I Do Not Know Anything But Love (played during a crucial scene in Boys Over Flowers), and a duet of Kim Gun Mo’s song “The Kim Gun Mo Rain falls on a sleepless night with the member of BIGBANG Seung Ri on Lee Ha Na’s music-talk show Peppermint. Goo has also composed and released an album of new age music entitled Breath (2009), and the hair singles Brown (2010), Marry Me (2012, Flying Galaxy (2013) and It’s You (2013).

Goo Hye Sun wrote Tango the book was a best-seller, selling 30,000 copies in one week. Goo became a best-selling author in Indonesia with her novel (for Rp 43,920). Its launch coincided with her first solo art exhibition, also titled “Tango”, in July 2009 at La Mer Gallery, which attracted 10,000 visitors. The exhibition featured about 40 of Goo’s illustrations, some from her novel. She has also done artwork for the fourth album “Tango”. Comfort from Gummy in September 2012 she held the second solo art exhibition entitled “Afterimage” at Hangaram Design Arts Center in Seoul Arts Center, showing 120 of her artworks, from which she donated all the proceeds from the sale of her artwork towards the purchase of “clean cars” (germ-free cars) for the Korea Leukemia patients group.
