- He was a trainee in under the name of BK. He held the position of Dance Team leader and participated in the 2015 JYPE showcase.
- He came first in the JYP audition.
- In 2012, Jason was part of “High Praise,” a team formed by the judges of Kpop Star 1 with kids who hadn’t particularly caught their eye but made it to the last stage before the castings. He was with Jun How (iKON ) and two other guys, and they passed the first round of casting with a dance break and a cover of Wild Eyes by Shinhwa.
- The dance studio Jason attended is NY Dance School, and within it he was part of Urban Boys with CINEMA from PENTAGON.

- On February 17, 2022, it was reported that Kim Byeong Kwan would enlist on April 11 for military duty in KATUSA, the U.S. Army’s Korean Augmentation Troops. This is a branch of military service that requires applicants to demonstrate a high degree of fluency in English.
