- Huening Kai is the son of a Brazilian-American of German descent based in China and a Korean mother, but he was born and lived in Honolulu Hawaii, U.S.A. for a month, then went through South Korea to meet his family, then moved to China (where his parents met), lived there for about 7 years, and finally moved to South Korea in winter when he was 8 years old.
- Influenced by his family, he started playing guitar, piano and drums at a very young age. He also learned to compose at an early age, becoming quite famous in his school.
- He was discovered by a Big Hit staff member when he was auditioning for another company with his older sister. The staff remembered him and decided to call him to audition for his now current company (BigHit Ent.). He ended up auditioning for Big Hit Ent. in 2016 with the song “Give Love” by the duo Akdong Musician sometimes” by Crush and “Sunday Morning” by Maroon 5.
