HYBEis a South Korean record label, founded on February 1, 2005, after the founding of Big Hit were the team members that the great composer of JYP, Bang Si Hyuk and the then co-CEO of JYP Jungwook, Jungwook retired from this project to be the new CEO of JYP, but still has strong ties between JYP and BigHit

Several artists behind Big Hit such as 8Eighty Lim Jeong Heewith the help of JYPthey debuted the same year that Big Hit was created. It is said that a major investment by Bighit in its early days was JYPwhich, in 2010, signed a joint management agreement on the group’s 2AMto generate profits from tours and concerts from 2007 to 2014

That year, Bang Si Hyuklaunched nationwide auditions and recruited RMas the first member of BTSwho was later followed by the other members of the group, making their debut as a group in 2013

In 2012, the company signed Lim Jeong Heeand the group of girls GLAMwhich was formed as a collaboration between Source Music and Big Hit Labels. The group was active until 2014, when they disbanded due to a controversy over Kim Da Hee.

Following the termination of the joint contract between Big Hit and JYP Entertainment in April 2014, three of the members of 2AM returned to JYP, while Lee Chang-min stayed with the company to pursue his solo career and part of the duo MENin addition, that same year, 8Eight was dissolved after Baek Chan and Joo Hee terminated their contracts with the agency.

In May 2015, Signal Entertainment Group (Company specializing in artist management and television production), acquired Big Hit through a 6 billion won bond, in the same month, Lim Jeong Hee separated from Big Hit Entertainment.

In early 2017, Big Hit terminated its staking relationship with Signal Entertainment Group.

In February 2018, HOMME disbanded after Changmin’s contract came to an end, leaving the agency to start his own, while Lee Hyun continued as a solo artist.

Lenzo Yoon, was appointed co-CEO of Big Hit Entertainment with Bang Si-hyuk in March 2019. Yoon will focus on the business components of the company and Bang, on creative production.

On March 4, 2019, the new agency group, TXTdebuted with the mini album “The Dream Chapter: Star”which quickly achieved great success in sales and views.
